There are several different types of umpire training events held throughout the year across the program, all aimed and helping umpires improve their knowledge and skill for the communities they serve:

·         Outreach Clinics – satellite Little League Umpire Clinics hosted by local leagues/districts across the program.

·         Plate Mechanics Clinic – held at each of our five region headquarters, this clinic emphasizes the basics and fundamentals of plate mechanics to accurately perceive the strike zone other responsibilities of the plate umpire.

·         Tournament Preparation Clinic for Umpires – also held at each of our five region headquarters, this clinic will help prepare all umpires working any phase or level of the International Tournament by focusing on the 4-Umipre System, Play Positioning, Handling Situations, and Little League Rules to Know for Tournament Play.

·         Umpire Academy – there are twelve opportunities to attend an Umpire Academy throughout the 2025 season as each region site and Williamsport will host both a spring and fall umpire academy.  This extended learning opportunity is a comprehensive study of the rules of Little League Baseball and Softball, plate work, base work, working the 2-Umpire System, and handling situations.
